Job description / Role
- Administers subcontractors’ contracts maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information regarding projected financial or technical difficulties.
- Provides support service when required in interpretation of contract during the course of the contract and ensures its close-out is in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitors and administers the business provisions of subcontractors’ contracts to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Advise the Contracts/Commercial Manager regarding scope, financial, and risk issues and concerns of applicable subcontractors’ contracts.
- Identifies contractual problems and possible claims by contractor and takes appropriate action to ensure a satisfactory resolution and informing management/client of the same.
- Manage variations and changes to the contract in liaison with the Quantity Surveyor and prepare, demonstrate, negotiate and follow up of Final Accounts, Variations and Claims, until settlement of subcontractor’s contracts
- Develop and manage contractual issues related to time and cost implications, for all contractual arrangements with subcontractors.
- Control, administration and reporting of each subcontractor on the project, to ensure that the contractor/supply is properly formulated, controlled and closed out.
- Prepares periodic status reports for management.
- Generates and maintains documentation for analyzing, negotiating, and drafting change/variation orders with contractors.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor in Civil Engineering or Professional Qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- 5+ years’ postgraduate experience.
- Subcontractors’ contract administration is a MUST.
- GCC/Middle East Experience is required.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbally
