Employment: Full Time

About the Job
- Controls, coordinates and supervises all operational activities in shifts relating to diversified and critical unit's operation; includes supervising raw materials, Sulphur and refined products' movement, storage and blending; and loading at marine jetties and road tankers.
- Acts as central control to ensure that operations are synchronized and conform to procedures to produce pre-determined quantities of specified products at optimum cost in a safe and efficient manner as well as to handle all problems and emergencies occurring in shifts.
- Assumes overall responsibility for all activities at the refinery during afternoon and night shifts and holidays. Acts as on scene commander during emergencies.

Key Accountabilities
- Reviews all operation parameters, lab. Analyses during the shift and takes action to achieve RR production targets with minimum wastages, optimum cost and environmental atmosphere.
- Arranges with (on call persons) after normal working hours for any requirements (mech. / elect. / control / production / safety and general services) - ensures all maintenance activities are carried out safely with minimum interruption to operating plants and as per Takreer HSE Manual.
Coordinates with outside companies (GASCO, Borouge, Fertile .... etc) as per requirement links.
- Ensures all sections staff are familiar with unit's operation and emergency procedures (emergency simulation for all sections to be carried out as per schedule).
- Acts as on-scene commander during emergencies (decides & declares type of emergency), to ensure that all emergencies are handled in most effective and safest way.
- Discusses accidents, incidents & near misses with subordinates in order to avoid recurrence.
- Works with the Unit Supervisors to identify and eliminate unplanned flare sources and optimize utility usage.
- Follows up security, general service & administration activities after normal working hours (arrangement with on call persons if required).

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
- B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- At least 8 years' experience in operational aspects of various plants of which 3 years should have been in a supervisory position.
- UAE driving licence is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of English. Knowledge of Arabic is preferable.
- Leadership and planning skills .
- DCS software skill.
- Complete understanding of HSEMS.
- Direct experience in Emergency Response and the Incident Command System
