Corporate Development Principal

Job description / Role

The Company:

Robert Half is working with a leading multinational conglomerate in order to find a Corporate Development Principal to enhance their already impressive team.

The Role:

Support Corporate Development team in evaluation of M&A, PE and VC opportunities, Greenfield and Divestment opportunities across all business divisions and geographies.

* Prepare and review presentations, financial models on the opportunities regarding specified key performance indicators.
* Liaise and coordinate with external consultants/advisors for due diligence and internal stakeholders in relation to the transaction.
* Analyzing new business ideas to identify key drivers of performance, potential business model gaps or synergies with the company portfolio
* Deriving validation plans and identifying types of evidence required to make an informed, rational assessment of a business opportunity, recommend an investment decision or changes in the business model
* Developing business cases - from back-of-the-envelope analysis to full-blown financial models
* Work closely with Finance, Legal, and investment committee to coordinate the development of a deal and create the necessary contracts.
* Driving the investment decision making process around a specific opportunity end-to-end, including analytical foundation, project management, supporting materials, governance and stakeholder management (internal and external);
* Coaching business teams (consisting of the company and external partners) on the matters of business model, unit economics, business case design, investment attractiveness criteria
* Directly contributing to the strategy of the company in the domain of Corporate Development / New Businesses.

The Candidate:

* Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree from a top-tier university; Masters in Finance or Business highly preferred. Any industry certification may also be beneficial

* Experience: Around 5-10 year of experience in Corporate Development, Consulting, or Private Equity / Venture Capital organizations, ideally combined.
* Experience in building a strong external network of partners.
* Prior investment track record. Relationship with serial entrepreneurs. Startup experience may also be of value.

* Experience of managing projects and employing proper governance to enable senior stakeholders to make informed strategic decisions
* Understanding of and interest in investment attractiveness criteria in the context of capital markets / early-stage businesses
* Prior exposure to deal / M&A environments (deal strategy, screening, due diligence, structuring, negotiations and decision making) desirable
* Knowledge of management consulting economics and performance metrics desirable.
* Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
