Data Strategy & Technical Projects Lead

Our client is a dynamic event management business who are growing aggressively and are looking to hire a Data Strategy and Technical Project Lead for the Dubai office.

This role will drive the organisation's data strategy, overseeing initiatives from conception to completion. This position is pivotal in identifying opportunities to leverage data for business value, improving decision-making, processes, and customer experiences. Expertise in data and project management will coordinate internal and external stakeholders, ensuring successful delivery of scalable data solutions and promoting data-driven decision-making throughout the organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Identify data-driven solutions with business potential, crafting and executing a comprehensive data strategy aligned with company objectives. Lead data initiatives and projects from inception to fruition.
• Ensure the success of data projects by managing timelines, resources, and risks. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals, fostering effective communication and coordination.
• Establish and maintain robust data governance policies, ensuring accuracy and consistency across the organisation's data landscape.
• Develop and enforce data governance practices, guaranteeing data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business units, technology teams, and external partners. Promote a collaborative environment and communicate complex data concepts clearly.
• Create metrics and reporting frameworks to measure the effectiveness of data initiatives. Analyze project outcomes for continuous improvement.
• Manage the budget for data projects, optimizing resource utilization and maximizing return on investment.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, driving innovation within the organisation's data practices. Recommend new tools and techniques to enhance data capabilities.
• Mentor and develop team members, building a high-performing, data-savvy team and fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
• Empower the business to self-service data use through visualization, reporting, and dashboarding tools.
• Oversee data integration efforts from various sources, ensuring a seamless flow into the data warehouse/data factory target structure for analytical purposes.
• Drive the development and maintenance of data models, acting as a bridge between business needs and data analysts/data scientists to deliver valuable insights.

Salary:
AED 30,000 to 50,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

To be considered for the role you must be:

• Degree educated in either a Data or Information Technology related subject
• Have a proven track record in leading Data projects or leading Data departments. With a minimum of 10 years senior level leadership in Data project and strategy
• Experience of working in a multicultural environment, ideally within the UAE.
• Exposure to the events industry both in country and overseas.
