Job description / Role
As part of a large Permanent Works Design team the Design Co-ordinator is responsible for proactively managing the designers employed by the JV to achieve engineering solutions that are high quality, safe, innovative, to programme and are commercially advantageous.
The Design Coordinator reports to the Design Manager and is responsible for leading the design from RIBA Stage E to RIBA Stage F1 for one or more sections of 6 key Architectural and MEPFC design packages.
The role involves full programme & budgetary responsibility for the design package being managed with fortnightly progress reporting to the Design Manager.
Design Coordinator is the owner of or contributor to:
- Design Management Plan
- Specific Contract Correspondence between BBMV & CRL
- Specific Contract Correspondence between BBMV and the designers employed by the JV
- Managing the Materials Compliance Record (MCR) Process & Materials Approvals Schedule for Permanent Works Design
- Leading their specific section of permanent works design though the CRL Gate 3 Design Assurance process
- Full budgetary & programme responsibility for specific section of design
Requirements
- Minimum 4-6 years experience, medium to large scale residential, commercial, retail, interiors experience
- AutoCAD 2012 min experience (min 5 years local experience)
- Revit 3D Studio drafting / modelling experience (min 4 years)
- Minimum 3 years Construction industry / practice understanding / knowledge / experience i.e. must understand what they draw actually looks like in real life, i.e. onsite experience
- Must have an Architecture Degree. Engineering (Civil) may be acceptable dependant on industry experience
