Robert Half are working with a leading UAE conglomerate with operations globally is currently looking to recruit a Director of Audit & Assurance.

The Role

As the Director of Audit and Assurance you will assume a critical leadership role within the organization, responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the audit and assurance function, including Functional Audits for outlets, loss prevention, risk assessment, incident management, investigation, guarding and asset protection, security equipment, and security services. This strategic position is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of financial and operational processes, risk management, and compliance with industry regulations and internal policies. You will play a key role in providing independent and objective assessments of the organization's internal controls and governance framework, contributing to the achievement of operational excellence and the safeguarding of assets. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the organization's overall effectiveness and efficiency.

* Assumes a critical and technically adept role within the organization, leading a multifaceted portfolio of audit and assurance functions.
* This encompasses the orchestration of in-depth internal audits, process reengineering initiatives, and the formulation of recommendations for best practices and operational efficiency enhancements.
* Exercise meticulous oversight over Functional Audits for retail outlets and conducts rigorous loss prevention assessments, utilizing advanced risk assessment methodologies to pinpoint vulnerabilities. Furthermore, the purview extends to proficiently managing incident response protocols and investigations, while ensuring the optimal functioning of guarding and asset protection mechanisms.
* Spearhead the deployment of state-of-the-art security equipment and services, fortifying the organization's resilience in the face of emerging threats.
* You will possess a profound understanding of audit methodologies, risk assessment frameworks, and regulatory compliance standards. Demonstration of proficiency in designing and executing comprehensive audit programs, including Functional Audits for retail outlets, internal audits, and financial audits, while also excelling in process reengineering initiatives to drive operational efficiency.
* Leveraging their extensive knowledge of auditing software and data analytics tools, the incumbent employs advanced techniques to extract actionable insights from complex data sets, enhancing audit effectiveness.
* Adeptness in loss prevention strategies and security risk assessments would identification of vulnerabilities and implement preventive measures, ensuring robust asset protection and incident management protocols.

* Possess a deep understanding of industry-specific regulations, best practices, and emerging trends, enabling them to provide strategic guidance and recommendations for continuous improvement.


The Candidate

* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
* Certification in Accounting - CFA / CIA or equivalent and/or master's degree in finance, Accounting or Business Administration, is preferred.
* 15 years of relevant experience with at least 8 years leading the Internal Audit function in a complex business environment, preferably in the FMCG sector.
