About the Job
- A qualified person who is registered as a diver and complies with the requirements of the relevant training standards and who performs on site and works below water surface using an underwater apparatus to inspect, repair, remove, or install equipment and structures.
- May use a variety of power and hand tools, such as drills, and welding equipment and may conduct tests or industrial photography

Key Accountabilities
- Carry out a range of daily planned and allocated air diving and sub-sea activities relating to the inspection and maintenance of terminal mooring assemblies, navigation systems and hosing gear to ensure their optimum operational status.
- Inspects and tests docks, ships, buoyage systems, plant intakes or outfalls, underwater pipelines, cables or sewer systems using closed circuit television or still photography
- Perform offshore oil or gas exploration or extraction duties such as conducting underwater repairs
- Recover objects by placing rigging around sunken objects, hooking rigging to raise objects
- Operate underwater video, sonar, recording or related equipment to investigate structures or marine life
- Comply with any direction or instructions given to him or her by the supervisor appointed for that diving operation and participate as a team member in the daily tool-box talk to gain a thorough understanding of the nature and complexity of the day's activities to eliminate safety hazards
- Maintain a daily record of his or her diving in his or her diver's logbook and keeps the record of diving in his or her possession for at least two years after the date of the last entry
- Inform the diving supervisor if he or she is not competent to carry out the diving tasks required in a safe manner
- Participate as a member of the emergency team in order to provide first line support response capability and contribute to emergency drills to exchange experience and job related skills to develop team members' performance and capabilities in the long term in order to gain experience with emergency procedures.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
- Technical Diploma in relevant field or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field
- At least 3 years of experience in the diving operations involving the inspection and maintenance of single buoy moorings
- HSE Part 1 (or recognised equivalent) Offshore Diver Certification is required
- Medical examination from a designated medical practitioner in a period not exceeding 12 months
- Diving First Aid certificate. (minimum qualification)
