Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose:

The Duty Officer is responsible for all shift-related activities, including safety, compliance, and service delivery. They act as the person in charge in the absence of the Operations Manager and ensure the safe and on-time delivery of all consignments while leading their team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducts daily shift briefs, Employee one-to-ones, and engages in coaching and mentoring for improved Lateness, Sickness, and Absence.
• Demonstrates leadership in Safety by checking team's PPE and uniform, enforcing Standard Operating Procedures, conducting Ramp audits, and ensuring timely submission of Stop Cards into IMS.
• Ensures team competency through task sign-offs, refresher training, and maintenance of a Training Matrix, never allowing untrained operations.
• Manages service delivery by ensuring goods accountability, adherence to quality standards, dispatch accuracy, and efficient departmental operations.
• Oversees logistics operations by ensuring pre-operational fleet checks, scheduling downtime for maintenance, and monitoring fleet compliance.
• Ensures compliance by following CCP, responding to compliance reports, closing off actions, and signing off compliance paperwork.
• Escalates issues affecting business directly, maintains transparency in communication, and follows escalation procedures consistently.
• Proactively plans to mitigate service delivery impact, anticipates potential problems, and assumes the role of 'person in charge' in the absence of the Operations Manager.


Experience and Qualification:

• Minimum 5 years of previous experience in airline catering.
• Minimum 3 years of previous experience in a similar role.
• Previous experience in people management within a multicultural operation.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working within a time-sensitive operation.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to work effectively towards tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
• Possession of a full driving license.
