Electrical Draftsman

Job description / Role

Responsibilities:

General Responsibilities
• Involved in the role of an Electrical Draftsman for MW/GW utility-scale solar PV plant (with/without ESS), Micro-grid Projects(Solar PV ,ESS,DG) , Commercial & Industry Solar PV Projects , Roof Top Solar PV Projects, EV Charging Stations Projects etc.
• The candidate will be required to prepare ,modify or update electrical and solar drawings, plans, diagrams and 3D projections using AutoCAD Software to appropriate industry and company standards from given guidance, designs, sketches and notes with accuracy and within specified deadlines.

Specific Responsibilities
The Job specific responsibilities shall be as follows :
• To prepare Engineering drawings like Solar Plant Layout , Solar Plant Single Line Diagram ,Cable Tray /Trench Layout , Earthing Layout , Lighting Layout , Lightning Protection Layout , Power Station Building Layout , Switchgear & Control Room Layouts , Substations/Switchyard Bays Layouts , Battery Energy Storage System Layout , DC & UPS system drawings , communication system architecture drawings, CCTV / security system drawings and protection, monitoring and control system schemes using AutoCAD .
• To prepare Solar Plant Layout drawings in AutoCAD showing details like PV Module arrangement & orientation , PV Strings , String/ Array JBs location, Inverters Location , AC Side LV Switchgear , Step up Transformers , MV Ring Main Units , Main MV Switchgears , Substation/Switchyard , legends , Title block ,IEC Symbols etc .
• To prepare Solar Plant Project SLD using AutoCAD incorporating equipment/system details of both DC side as well AC side . The SLD should show symbolic representation (IEC Symbols) & Technical ratings of Solar PV modules, strings/arrays , JBs, DBs, ESS, Solar DC Cables , Inverters , LV Switchgears/Cubicles, Transformers, MV RMUs , Main MV Switchgears , AC Cables, Substation/Switchyard Line & Transformer Bays , CTs , PTs , Circuit Breakers, SPDs, Protection & Metering etc based on the guidance & Input from the Design & Engineering team.
• To Prepare Cable Tray/ Trench layouts showing Plan & Sectional drawings indicating Runs of cables , cable sizes , cable tray/ trench/ conduit/Pipe /duct banks , supporting/fixing arrangement etc
• To Prepare Earthing Layout drawings showing Earth mat , Earth electrodes, earth Flat/strips/earthing cables ,Lightning Pits & Sectional drawings using Autocad.
• To Prepare Power station building/Control room layouts showing Switchgears , Batteries,DBs, Indoor Transformers , Work stations ,Control panels etc with Plan & elevation details . The Room layouts should show dimensions , clearances ,equipments duly marked using AutoCAD .
• To prepare Substation /Switchyard layout drawings indicating Power Evacuation Transformers, Line/Transformer bays with LA , CT, PT, Circuit Breakers, Isolators ,Earth Switch, Bus configurations etc using IEC symbols
• To prepare Lighting Layout drawings including lighting fixtures, circuit/wiring details , Lighting DBs , Conduiting details using AutoCAD . Working Knowledge on using DIALux or any other Lighting software will be an advantage .
• To assist Design & Engineering team in performing Shadow analysis for Solar PV projects using SketchUp & Helios softwares.
• To assist Engineering team in calculating detail BOQ for complete Power Plant including DC Cables, connectors, AC Cables ,glands,lugs , earthing cables/strip/flat and other miscellaneous accessories etc. Should be able to measure,estimate & calculate BOQ using drafting techniques & producing in an excel form .
• Assist in establishing technical system for MENA region market development.
• To assist in Engineering Team in preparation of Solar PV mounting structure column foundation design
• Other assigned relevant work.
• Assist drawing works at project sites if and when required.

Salary:
AED 3,000 to 12,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• ITI/ DIPLOMA in Electrical from a reputed institute
• Understanding on Basic Electrical concepts will be an advantage
• Certificate in AutoCAD is mandatory
• Must have 5 yrs experience in Solar PV Projects drafting and designing .
• Experience in using Helios/Sketchup is preferable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel etc
• Must have basic familiarity with IEC & Industry standards with respect to drafting works
• Good inter-personal and communication skills
• Self-motivated individual that is detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and good time management
