Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

In this role, you are accountable to ensure the highest levels of emergency preparedness are achieved and maintained throughout the organization, to facilitate an effective response to a major aircraft incident or accident should the need arise.
This position would be deployed within the Emergency Response Centre to provide first level support and decision-making capability to assist Senior Management in the aftermath of an event of significance.

Accountabilities:

- Develop, implement and manage emergency processes and procedures to comply with IOSA, ICAO and GCAA standards and other regulatory and company requirements including, but not limited to, the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Oversight for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of Corporate and Station Emergency Plan manuals, including monitoring of system-wide implementation and compliance, and periodic Plan revisions and issuance of same.
- Develop and deliver all Emergency Response training programs, inclusive of online training modules.
- Lead the recruitment, training and activation processes of the Etihad Special Assistance Team (SAT) for emergency humanitarian response.
- Ensure 24/7 operational preparedness of the companies emergency response facilities and equipment through a robust regime of preventative maintenance, internal and external supplier management, supervision and oversight.
- Assume critical role of "ERC Coordinator" to provide command support and guide/consult/advise executive management on strategy and tactics during emergency deployment/crisis response.
- Designs, implement, manage and improve emergency exercises and drills, inclusive of both company personnel and external airport, government, and regulatory authorities.
- Support Senior Manager Operations & Emergency Response Planning in annual budget process, reviewing of external vendor services, contracts including alliances contract requiring ERP specifications
- Build and maintain strong external relationships with contracted emergency support service vendors, other airlines, IATA and AACO to continue to gain knowledge on international industry standards of ERP.

Requirements

Education & Experience

- Educated to degree level from a recognized University or possess a relevant industry-accredited operational qualification .

Experience:

- 10 years airline industry experience, with extensive exposure to the operational environment, inclusive of emergency planning and/or crisis management, and with a minimum of 3 years spent in management positions.
- Project management experience is ideal, preferably with the design and implementation of airline and/or government departmental crisis plans, mass event/disaster response plans.
- Fluent and proficient in English.
