Job description / Role
Description:
* Prepares proposals for conference, catering, corporate leisure and incentive group business.
* Entertains and conducts Hotel tours to clients whenever required
* Coordinates requirements prior to and while in-house, including accommodation, food & beverage and other required services as specified by the client.
* Assists in generating incremental meetings & events business to achieve desired accommodation and meeting room occupancies and revenue goals through development of all sources of business.
* In consultation with the Director of Sales and Director of Sales and Marketing, identify, plan and initiate contact with potential sources of business locally, interstate and nationally.
* Conducts weekly meetings & events and banquet meetings.
Requirements
* Previous experience in an event service or event planning position in a 5 star hotel.
* Tertiary qualifications in event management or equivalent (will be an advantage).
* Strong attention to detail with exceptional organisational and time management skills.
* The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and identify key needs.
* Competent selling skills and is driven to consistently achieve set sales targets.
* Strong administration experience along with effective computer skills, especially in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Opera, Envision and Reserve.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and promote team work.
* The ability to create a positive first impression with an understanding of the importance of five star grooming standards

About the Company
Hyatt was founded by Jay Pritzker in 1957 when he purchased the Hyatt House motel adjacent to the Los Angeles International Airport.
