Factory Manager - Organic Fertilizers

Job description / Role

• Overall operation and management of our fertilizer manufacturing plant.
• Ensure the efficient production of high-quality fertilizers while maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
• Overseeing production processes, implementing quality control measures, optimizing operational efficiency, and managing a team of skilled personnel .

Responsibilities:

• Supervise the entire fertilizer production process, from raw material intake to final product packaging.
• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and ensure on-time delivery.
• Monitor production metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Implement and maintain stringent quality control standards to ensure the production of high-quality fertilizers.
• Conduct regular quality checks and inspections to verify compliance with industry standards and specifications.
• Develop and manage the factory budget, including expenses related to production, maintenance, staffing, and raw materials.
• Monitor budget against expenses and implement cost-saving as necessary.
• Prepare regular financial reports and present them to the senior management team.
• Streamline manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for process optimization.
• Implement best practices to improve productivity, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventive maintenance activities to ensure operational reliability.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of production staff, technicians, and operators.
• Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
• Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Enforce strict safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment for all employees.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Investigate and report any safety incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to avoid shortages and excesses.
• Implement effective inventory control measures to minimize wastage and optimize storage space.

Requirements

• Education: Chemical Engineering
• Proven experience in Organic Fertilizer Industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with colleagues.
• Excellent Analytical and observational skills
• Passion for personal and team development
