Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Financial Analyst is responsible for diligent follow up and all rounded analysis of margins, shrinkage and stock depreciation figures. He is also responsible for providing clear analysis and explanations to the management with regards to the financial aspects of stocks: stock levels, stock ageing, shrinkage and stock depreciation and to provide recommendations to optimise the stock financial KPIs.

Reporting and Investigation
- Margin Analysis
- Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to all rounded cost analyses and profitability.

Stock Depreciation
- Compute the stock depreciation at month end adhering to the stock depreciation rules of The company.
- Ensure the accuracy of data obtained from the countries’ stock control or finance team and from supply chain.
- Monitor the evolution and provide adequate explanation for the same.
- Work in close collaboration with Supply Chain.
- Challenge Supply Chain for the data feed from their department.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive stock depreciation reports for operational teams (Supply chain, Category Management and Commercial)
- Propose recommendations on reducing stock depreciation and follow up on previous recommendations.
- Set up a forecasting tool to anticipate major depreciation evolution and proactively highlight operational concerns and advise corrective/preventive action.

Shrinkage
- Analyse and summarise the shrinkage GL.
- Challenge the stock take results
- Provide clear and comprehensive monthly shrinkage report for operational teams within closing deadlines with reasons for shrinkage, feedback from Store Managers for notable amounts, recommendations on reducing it and follow up of previous recommendations.
- Escalate to concerned managers to initiate appropriate action

General
- Preparing stock statistic template to update the stock value and provisions.
- Verifying the stock, stock depreciation provision & shrinkage values with TB.
- Communicating the stock depreciation figures per store respectively.

Monitor Demarque Items
- Monthly consolidating the demarque list; follow-up for necessary approvals to write off from the systems through sales orders.

KPI
- Accuracy of stock statistics (stock provision, stock turn and stock days)
- Respect of deadlines with regards to shrinkage and provision analysis and provide files to Supply chain and Finance.
- Reduction in depreciation provision
- Reduction in the percentage of shrinkage eg: by ensuring undue shrinkage is re invoiced to brands.
- Recommendations and action plans in the light of shrinkage, margin and depreciation analysis.
- Accurate margin analysis

Requirements

- Strong Financial Analyst background (5 years minimum)
- Good Accounting skills.
- Strong on Excel
- Accounting qualification / Business School
