Job description / Role
Our client, a large international engineering company is currently looking for a Finance Director to be based in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will be expected to:
• Form a close working relationship with the General Manager, Group Finance Director and other Senior Executives.
• Provide leadership to the Finance and Accounting strategy for the Middle East companies, to optimise financial performance and strategic position.
• Take overall control of and lead the Middle East companies accounting function.
• Ensure that company financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
• Provide routine and ad hoc reports as required by the company, minority banks and stakeholders.
• Work with senior teams to manage the businesses, evaluate commercial risks and exposures, formulate strategies and plans.
• Ensure corporate budgeting processes are carried out and reviewed.
• Take responsibility for the management of bank facility utilisation by the Middle East companies.
• Present financials to the Head Office, minority banks and other stakeholders as required
• Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
• Take responsibility for and lead the HR and Administration functions of the Middle Eastern Companies.
• Corporate finance: manage company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, disposals and acquisitions, as appropriate.
• Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including banks, customers, suppliers, lawyers and advisors.
Requirements
• Qualified Accountant (UK ICAEW or ACCA or ICMA or equivalent)
• Proven track record of overcoming challenging situations
• Experience in managing people
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a changing environment
• Experience of working in the UAE preferably
• Experience of working in a contracting company preferably sub-contracting in construction
