Job description / Role
The Finance Manager’s role is to partner the business streams in ensuring that sales & contribution are optimized and effectively managed. The post holder will provide strong commercial & financial advice on margin management, capital investment and other operational issues as well as ensuring that the senior management team is appropriately communicated with on actual & forecast performance.
This will include analysis and insight of Business Performance, ownership of the Budgeting and Forecasting processes for both P&L and Capex, and financial evaluation of new initiatives, business activities and capital investments.
You will work with the Retail management teams to gain a deep understanding of these areas and utilise your expertise to drive business performance forward. Your success will be dependent on building strong relationships with the key people in these teams.
Key Position Accountabilities
• Contribute to the formulation of Corporate Strategy by developing medium to long-term operational (including capital expenditure) forecasts and leading the Group’s annual strategic planning & budgeting process
• Management of Board Reporting & forecasting for the operational aspects of the business, including management of operations risks & opportunities
• Develop ‘objectives-based’ system & process enhancements to enable more effective day-to-day management of business profitability
• Fostering strong relationships with business units by establishing a customer service culture within the Finance Team
• Play a lead role in coaching the finance & operational teams (including management) to become more financially competent in their approach to business decisions
• Challenge existing modus operandi, questioning processes and structures which are currently embedded in the Company culture.
Requirements
Essential
• Age: 35-45 years
• Experience: 10 years+
• Qualification: CA, CPA. CMA, MBA (Finance) preferred.
• Industry: Retail, distribution, consumer products, Fashion.
• Experience: Head of legal entity finance function, commercial support, independent handling of financial close and audit, MIS reporting and analysis using BI tools and ERP implementation.
In addition to the above, the successful candidate should have experience in
• Business Performance evaluation
• Budgeting & Forecasting for multiple business units
• Good internal/external communicator being able to build strong relationships, influencing and presenting at a senior level
• Working experience in the UAE
• Knowledge of local market environment & trends, government policy and regulatory requirements
