Employment: Full Time

Job Title: Financial Controller – SWOBC Business Line
Reports to: Executive Vice President SWOBC BL / Group Controller
Direct reports: Controllers (local entities) / Accountants
Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates (involving frequent travel to various project locations)

Key Accountabilities:
• Actively involves in bid preparation in various countries
• Understanding the compliance requirements of new country set up and ensuring compliance adherence for the legal entities or permanent establishments (PE)
• Follow up all the costs incurred by project and tracks them against the budgeted costs – to alert the management / operations of any deviation
• Plan and manage the BL budgeting process including collecting data from various support entities within the group to reflect the overall profit plan for the year by project and for the BL
• Prepare monthly BL reports (both actuals and forecasts) for the management by project, comparing against the project budget and annual budget for the BL
• Prepare Monthly backlog reports
• Prepare cash flow by project and for the BL
• Act as a link between operations and accounting
• Attend periodic meetings with operations to understand the financial position of each project and to feedback the financials results to operations by projects
• Attend periodic meetings with Group Controller and CFO to provide an overall financial update for the BL covering the operational / financial / compliance issues
• Outline rules for allocation of overhead costs
• Actively involve on tax matters in coordination with the Group Tax Manager
• Actively involve on treasury matters in coordination with the Group Treasurer
• Regular benchmarking of Seabed Geosolutions vs. main competitors
• Take ownership of Seabed Geosolutions chart of account and other metadata (ie. departments,project numbers)
• Ensure the revenue invoices are submitted on time to the client and acceptance of invoices is recorded in clients invoicing systems (if any) for completeness.
• Follow up of Account Receivables with the clients by establishing direct contacts with the Accounts Payable departments of the client.

• Look at overall financial routines within Seabed Geosolutions
- Look at ways to improve reporting- and evaluation routines of projects and departments
- Ensure tools and procedures for project financial follow-up
• Maintain, further develop and revise rates in the cost model

Requirements

Qualifications required:
• Accountancy Qualification (e.g. CPA, ACA, ACCA)
• Good understanding of IFRS / accounting policies / audit practices

Skills / experience required to do the job:
• Strong analytical and decision making skills and to spot problems ahead
• Working in a multi-cultural work environment
• Dealing with seismic projects (bid to completion)
• Any ERP background (preferably Microsoft based)
• Knowledge of French / Spanish / Norwegian language/s will be an advantage
