Financial Controller

Job description / Role

Client is part of one of the largest local banking groups in the country are looking for a 'Financial Controller' to join their Dubai office.

The job holder is required to lead finance activities encompassing all regulatory and statutory reporting requirements, application of accounting standards, monitor regulatory compliance and management of general ledgers.

The job holder is responsible for the operations, control and maintenance of the accounting & financial reporting systems and processes for the entity, for the preparation and accuracy of its financial reports and for comprehensive analysis of financial performance.

Requirements

- Degree in accounting or related + Chartered qualification
- Previous banking experience mandatory
- Big 4 career start an advantage
- Islamic banking experience an advantage
- UAE experience mandatory
- Regulatory reporting experience (e.g. Central Bank UAE, DFSA) mandatory
- Strong personality to engage with internal stakeholders with previous stakeholder engagement experience
- Strong banking market knowledge in UAE
- Previous experience managing teams consisting of analysts, Financial control and MIS reporting people
- 10-12 years of experience in Finance of which at least 6 must be in financial management role(s)
