Food & Beverage Director, New Theme Park, Farah Leisure Parks Management

Farah Leisure Parks Management L.L.C. was established in 2008 as an international leisure facilities management and operating company, to provide world-class entertainment destinations in the Middle East.

Farah Leisure Parks Management L.L.C. operates Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the world's first Ferrari branded theme park and largest indoor park And Yas Waterworld the region’s first mega waterpark; both located on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

JOB SCOPE:
- To ensure the professional, safe, and efficient operation of the Food & Beverage Department for a large first-class theme park on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
- This person provides overall guidance and direction for all park food, beverage, and catering operations. The Director, Food & Beverage is the primary person responsible for the overall day to day operation of all food outlets within the theme park. He/she ensures that all guests have a superior experience and are immersed in the I.P.’s brand.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- He/she will build the entire Food & Beverage organization from scratch and will assist the development team in ensuring that the product meets the ultimate operational requirements of the future park. This person will be closely collaborating with the I.P.’s creative and project management teams to develop new and innovative services and high quality food and beverage presentations.
- Responsible for providing supervision, guidance, coaching, and training of a staff of approximately 260 managers, team leaders, and line colleagues.
- The Director, Food & Beverage works closely with other levels of management throughout the theme park(s) and company to better understand and effectively manage team-based and individual goals and business philosophies while maintaining high levels of facility quality and guest satisfaction.
- Responsible for the strategic management of resources and budgets to ensure the park (and company) meets all established financial goals.
- To actively demonstrate a strong personal commitment to the business vision. Shows an entrepreneurial mindset that helps the organization evolve, innovate, and remain as leading edge and effective as possible.
- He/she must both project and protect the image and reputation of the park’s institutional partner.
- Performs other reasonable duties as requested by senior management.

Requirements

- High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree or equivalent theme park management experience.
- Proficiency in writing, speaking, and understanding the English language. Proficiency in other languages a plus.
- Training and education (including on-the-job experience) in overall food service theme park operations. Experience in operating high-end guest service oriented facilities. Fundamental understanding of food services theories and standards – menu development, product sourcing and delivery, product inventory control, product display, and product pricing, preparation, and sales.
- Knowledge and understanding of computer programs such as Microsoft Office, POS systems, food service inventory control and finance software.
- At least seven years’ management experience in the operation of a large theme park food service operation or an equivalent commercial tourist attraction.
- Experience managing and opening a new facility from start-up preferred.
- Strong verbal and communication skills. Must be able to direct and coach a diverse team of colleagues through active participation and guidance in the following areas:
- Effective organization, planning and scheduling. Awareness and ability to manage daily and long-term priorities.
- Monitoring work area and employee safety, performance quality, and work efficiency. Following-up on all aspects of daily work product to ensure a high-quality result.
- The ability to motivate and maintain employee morale. Maintaining open communication with all management and colleagues. Responding to staff concerns and needs.
- Ability to monitor and identify problems proactively. Understanding of how best to utilize all resources available to quickly and effectively solve problems as they occur and with a strong sense of urgency.
- Stays current on new food and beverage trends, technologies, and processes emerging in the industry and proactively works to develop new products and services that will improve profits through increased operational efficiency and/or improved guest satisfaction.

The position will be based in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be required to relocate if based out of Abu Dhabi.
