Pegasus (A DarkMatter Company) are looking for a Full Stack Developer to join our team in developing an advanced Big Data Analytics platform, which ingests and fuses a broad spectrum of data sources to create highly actionable intelligence.

In the last twelve months we have seen our ranks swell from 70 to over 180 working out of five offices across three continents. We work very closely with our clients who range from intelligence agencies, military, law-enforcement agencies and other critical utilities for the functioning of governments and states.

We are building an organisation of specialists to provide the ultimate big data, analytics and information management platform. Whatever the scope, data scale or sensitivity of our clients' work we will leverage our platform to build new capabilities and workflows as well as provide professional services on how to best leverage our offerings to serve our clients mission.

About the Job

The successful candidate will work in an Agile development environment with data scientists to design and implement advanced Big Data Analytics technologies in mission critical products across the full stack (backend server and web frontend)

You will Design distributed software architecture that support massively parallel computation using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning as well as prototype proofs of concept through rapid iterations to determine optimal data models and algorithms

You will also Optimize design and implementation for maximum performance and scalability, contribute to project planning and execution, and collaborate with team members to deliver robust products through full product lifecycle from concept to release

Additional responsibilities include providing support for applications in production, debug issues and work with the core engineering team to resolve issues quickly

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude with a willingness to get things done and overcome obstacles

You will have 1-3 years of experience developing software applications across the full stack from backend server to web or mobile frontend.

- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented software engineering best practices
- Strong knowledge and experience in high-performance, multi-tier web applications including web servers, application servers, databases and infrastructure
- Strong experience with Java, Spring, HTML, CSS, JavaScript web application frameworks
- Proficiency in XML, HTTP, SOAP, REST, JSON and related web service standards
- In-depth knowledge of using and programming against relational databases (MySQL, etc.)
- Experience with development and configuration tools (Git, Jira, Jenkins, Maven, etc.) and Continuous Integration practices
- Experience writing unit tests and testable code
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with distributed system design and implementation
- Experience with advanced computing frameworks and technologies such as Hadoop stack
- Experience with NoSQL databases
- Experience working to customize products for customers
- Experience working in secure environments
- Experience working in the middle east
- Experience working with complex data sets
- Experience working with very large or numerous data sets
