Job description / Role
Our client is seeking a General Manager for their Culture authority with at least 10 years’ experience in international/local cultural events and programmes sector. You will be responsible for enabling and developing the cultural and creative initiatives for our client and to help define it in both a local and global context. You will be promoting our clients’ rich culture (Arts, Literature, Heritage, Theatre and Publishing etc.) through a wide-ranging programme of cultural/media events and exhibitions. Description:
• Lead our client by developing and implementing required Cultural and Media (TV, Radio, Press etc.) business strategies and plans
• Monitor all TV and radio activity ensuring the authority is showcased as a leader in culture
• Ensure that cultural and media directions are implemented by developing a yearly calendar of programmes, activities, events, etc.
• Review the existing strategic goals to ensure that they are clear, reasonable, and sustainable
• Oversee all operations of our client, including subsidiaries, to ensure smooth operations
• Ensure related policies and procedures are developed and implemented
• Set a clear identity, message, and voice for the cultural and media programmes
• Manage resources, assets, and related operations to maximize efficiency, productivity, and sustainability
• Oversee and coordinate with the HR Team to ensure highly qualified talent are hired, trained, and motivated
• Ensure a high skilled team is recruited with extensive experience to implement the authority’s vision
• Ensure relevant technology evolution is employed and implemented successfully when it needed, stay at the forefront of such initiatives
• Ensure continuous growth by seeking new opportunities for the authority to be involved in
• Effectively communicate with Managers/Head of Business to ensure you all share the same vision for the authority
• Involved in preparing annual budget and complete risk analysis on potential projects/programmes/events
• Propose solutions, enhancement plans and seize opportunities wherever needed to improve productivity
• Ensure performance and financial measures are set and implemented
Salary:
AED
40,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
Requirements
Criteria:
• Degree educated
• 10 years’ experience in a role that is relevant to cultural/media initiatives
• Strong leadership skills to bring out the very best from the team
• Fluent in English and Arabic, written and spoken
• Passionate about cultural initiatives
• Must have experience in international/local cultural/media events and programmes
• Must have at least 2 years UAE experience, will consider candidates who are currently based in the GCC and MENA region
