Job description / Role
Charterhouse is working with a long-standing UAE diversified holding group, that has an extensive portfolio across key sectors. Our client is seeking to hire an experienced General Manager to its Construction division, who will be responsible for the management of design, construction, logistics, procurement and budgets to ensure deliverables are achieved on-time and within budget.
This role will prepare detailed project management and construction schedules for construction, restoration and refurbishment projects across the UAE. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role will supervise the Construction Manager to monitor the construction progress, including worker productivity and compliance with building and safety codes.
In conjunction, this position will work with senior management and other key stakeholders to ensure all projects are completed on schedule, meeting the highest standards of quality and within budget. Additionally, the role will help create the implementation of systems and processes to guarantee cost and timeline efficiencies & reporting practices to stakeholders.
The General Manager of Construction will coordinate and manage Architects, Designers, Consultants, Purchase & Admin personnel, Technical Teams, Contractors, Vendors, Supervisors etc, and ensure strong reporting systems as per the requirements of senior management. This role will highlight any issues that could potentially impact the progress and delivery of projects and find solutions to mitigate any delays.
Requirements
The client will look to recruit an experienced Arabic speaking Construction professional with a minimum of 10 years’ experience within a similar senior leadership role inside the UAE.
The successful candidate will have experience in managing various Residential and High-rise projects, across the Construction, Architectural and Fit-out phases.
The selected candidate will hold a Civil or Architectural Engineering Degree from an internationally recognised University. Candidates holding Professional Memberships or Chartered status will also be considered as a priority.
