Employment: Full Time

Charterhouse is working with a globally recognised leading five-star establishment with a huge presence in the Gulf region. Our client is looking to hire a General Manager for their bar in Dubai.

You will plan, direct and oversee all bar operations including managing staff, ensuring product and service standards are met as well as implementing and maintaining procedures for maximum operating efficiency. You will also establish the outlet’s business plan by surveying demand; conferring with people in the community; identifying and evaluating competitors; preparing financial, marketing, and sales projections, analysis, and estimates.

In addition, you will maintain operations by preparing policies and standard operating procedures; implementing production, productivity, quality and patron-service standards whilst determining and implementing system improvements. Moreover, you will maintain patron satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating and auditing food, beverage and service offerings, initiating improvements and building relationships with preferred patrons.

You will be responsible for accomplishing the unit’s human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling and disciplining management staff. You will also communicate job expectations, plan and monitor, appraise and review job contributions. Planning and reviewing compensation actions along with enforcing policies and procedures will also be a crucial part of this role.

This role will also include maintaining a safe, secure and healthy facility environment by establishing, following and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures that comply with health and legal regulations to maintain security systems. You will also maintain professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the restaurant industry, attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional societies. You will accomplish company goals by accepting ownership for achieving different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. You will also set objectives and targets for the beverage unit/bar, directing and managing staff members to meet standards and objectives.

Requirements

The successful candidate should hold a Diploma qualification in business management from a recognised hospitality institute. You should have experience in the management of a bar or beverage service operation. You should also have strong knowledge of business management principles and practices as well as basic accounting procedures. It is essential you have an understanding of cost control procedures and human resource management practices. Preference will be given to candidates holding tertiary qualification.
