Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Responsible for liaison, handling, following up, negotiating and facilitating the corporate legal work of the company and its relevant subsidiaries with government / regulatory authorities in UAE.

Overall, the job requires legal knowledge, an extended web of acquaintances in the government bodies, social openness and the ability to build a good rapport with government officials, knowledge of company history and business. The nature and complexity of company work requires a bold person who is also highly mannered in order to obtain a higher level of service delivery than what is usually offered by government bodies.

In addition to the above, the job holder needs to be a reliable source of legal, compliance / regulatory information that he receives from government entities and provide the same to the Legal Department Personnel.

With the Departments of Economic Development in Dubai, Free zones and the other Emirates
Handling all corporate records with the DED for company legal entities which includes reservation of trade names, establishment of legal entities, registration of legal entities, amendments of corporate records and renewal of commercial registration of legal entities.

With the Lands Departments in Dubai and the other Emirates
Issuance, amendment and renewal of title deeds and site plans of lands records.

With the Notary Public
Handling all corporate affairs documentation notarizations before the Notary Public departments in the UAE. Such a task requires a great deal of legal knowledge developed through experience. Additionally, and due to the relatively complex nature of the corporate structure of the Group, the job holder manages to streamline the work in an efficient and timely manner preserving the company's interest at all times.

With the Municipalities and Master Developers of Free zones
Issuance of permits and affection plans for assets. Based on his knowledge of the company and its projects, the job holder should be able to efficiently negotiate the amounts of fees to be paid by company for its licenses.

With the Departments of Tourism
Issuance, renewal and amendment of hotels permits and tourism licenses.

With the chambers of trade & Industry
Registration and renewal of the chambers’ membership, and attestation of the chambers on corporate records.

With the police and Civil Defense
Obtaining permits and NOCs required for all Licenses.

Other related tasks as required / as instructed by the Legal Counsel.

Requirements

• Must be at least High School Graduate or have adequate education combined with prior experience in Government of the UAE.
• Must be Emirati, and with thorough knowledge of UAE values, norms and social relations.

Competencies: (Behavioral / Technical)
• Must be capable of independently solving problems faced with bureaucracy.
• Must have very strong inter-personal skills to interact and keep a good rapport with Government officials.
• Required to keep up to date on all changes in Governmental procedures that affect the business of the company.
• Must be a team player and have a good understanding of the business requirements in relation to his work
