Job description / Role
A fantastic opportunity has become available in our Dubai Office, for either a recent University Graduate within the relevant Mechanical / Acoustic Engineering discipline or a Graduate with up to 2 years\' current Dubai experience in a similar role looking for a new challenge in a progressive global company.
This is a newly created role with training and guidance to be provided by the Principal – Acoustics who is based in Dubai. You will assist in delivering building acoustics & environmental noise and vibration projects whilst building on your technical development and opportunities for career expansion. You will communicate directly with clients to obtain, collate and analyse relevant data and produce high quality technical reports.
Your duties will primarily include:
• Undertake acoustic calculations in support of design schemes and based on a sound understanding of acoustic principles and modelling
• Undertake engineering investigations, feasibility studies, preliminary designs, cost estimations, detailed designs and prepare associated reports, specifications etc., as required for the successful execution of projects
• Conduct on site measurements, testing and analysis of room acoustics, theatre planning and audio visual systems as required for the purpose of building design
• Write clear and detailed technical reports based on your analysis and investigations for submission to our clients
• Provide acoustic design advice in accordance with appropriate standards / procedures and provide advice to project leaders where necessary
• Undertake various modelling tasks using industry software, instrumentation and specific tools
• Assist with the drafting of task scope and fee proposals
• Accompany the regional Principal (and others when instructed) to meetings with Clients to discuss Project details
• Provide input into and the preparation of drawings by designers and conduct engineering reviews
Requirements
• A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics Engineering, or closely related field
• Strong interest in sound or vibration, preferably with academic or practical experience in acoustics, audio engineering, or construction
• An understanding of noise assessments and/or Acoustic Control principals
• Be self-motivated and proactive with a passion for detail and strong client service
• Have excellent communication, effective problem-solving and time management skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with Acoustics engineering computing such as EASE, Odeon, CadNA, Soundplan, MATLAB, or similar
• Working knowledge of relevant local and international Acoustics and Audio Visual standards would be an advantage
