Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Management responsibility for:

Prime Contractor Oversight -
Provide collaborative and integrated effort with Prime Contract Management team to ensure that the oversight efforts with Prime Contractor are comprehensive, seamless and timely;
Working to ensure that Prime Contractors reporting of PC activities, deliverables, and/or progress are accurate and aligned with appropriate procedures;
Provide the necessary "checks and balances" of oversight to ensure that all Prime Contract activities meet the contractual obligations of the Prime Contract;
Comminute and interface with prime Contractor for managing all commercial issues;
Train and manage the Commercial staff to build knowledge and understanding of how commercial and contractual aspects of a contract operate and support the construction.
Change Management -
Conduct challenge review of potential Changes for contractual entitlement;
Manage change process effectively in accordance with prime Contract and internal procedures;
Support Commercial Manager in leading negotiations with Contractor on Change and potential change issues;
Ensure appropriate delegation of authority approvals are sought and obtained.
Commercial Risk Management (Claims) -
Timely notifications to Claims Management team of potential claims flowing from Change Management activities;
Support and work collaboratively with Head of Claims Management to integrate and streamline Change and Claims;
Ensure client commercial interests are best protected by minimising potential for claim issues arising.
General Commercial and Contractual Issues -
Contractual advice to other Stakeholders and Senior Management and ensuring the Prime Contract obligations of both Parties are adhered to;
Negotiation of contentious issues with Prime Contractor with view to ensuring a non-adversarial resolution;
Providing regular concise internal reporting of Commercial Management issues relating to the Prime Contract;
Support negotiation of Fixed Rates presented by Contractor as necessary;
Ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained.

Requirements

Requirements:
Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or similar;
Chartered member of recognised professional institution such as RICS, CIOB or ICE;
Minimum of 12 years post degree experience, )of which 7+ years working within commercial / contract management teams on major energy projects;
Client facing, possesses clear and articulate communication skills and able to hold their own with various stakeholders;
Self-starter able to think creatively in order to achieve the positions goals and deliverables;
Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skill;
