Our client is a government firm within the B2B market, operating in Abu Dhabi. They are seeking to expand their leadership and are looking for a Head of Financial Systems based in Abu Dhabi.

About the client/role:

The organisation is based in Abu Dhabi and delivers to the consumer market, within the B2B sector. They are seeking to hire a Head of Financial Systems to lead their team.

The role requires hands on experience in automation and implementation of systems and processes. The Head of Financial Systems will be responsible for gathering and analysing the business process requirements of the firm's finance team and configuring the ERP system to efficiently meet those requirements.

Description

Essential responsibilities

* Mitigate legacy risks and exposures in the current Finance system and application support.
* Manage and improve the finance system, whilst transformation project is underway. Ensuring optimal scooping of projects, allocation of work and timely delivery of robust systems.
* Ownership of all post-transformation finance systems, processes, and applications.
* Modernize the financial systems and infrastructure to ensure that it is fit for purpose both now and when taking account of strategic growth and diversification plans.
* Ensure the finance systems and infrastructure enable and empower the finance function to complete all deliverables with a high-level of accuracy, insight, and efficiency, with a focus on eliminating manual work at every opportunity.
* Lead, optimize, and successfully deliver future integration/migration of businesses acquired into the company's financial systems and infrastructure.
* Develop, manage, and transform the finance systems team to deliver the highest quality support to the finance community and all business.
* Proactively look for opportunities to make incremental enhancements and improvements to current and future finance systems, reporting and data analytics capabilities.
* Drive increased efficiency and productivity across finance via overhauling and modernization of systems and processes.
* Support the commercial and operational decisions of the business, by enhancing the analysis, insight, and financial reporting capabilities of the finance team.
* Drive the continuous improvement of the group's financial systems and analytics capabilities, to make them better, simpler, and more user friendly.
* Finance business lead across all finance systems related projects.

Requirements

Requirements

* Qualified Accountant, with proven track record of career progression in a large, dynamic organisation
* At least 8 to 10 years of experience working in a relevant finance role
* Experience with system integration, improvement, and modernization
* Highly competent in writing coding languages such as SQL, VBA, and Macros.
* Extensive experience with analytics tools such as Tableau, Qlikview or Power BI.
* Display experience in interpreting, structuring, and optimising large commercial data sets (both finance and non-financial) to ensure the business can take advantage of enhancing insight.
* Have managed staff.
* Have developed business partnering relationships at a senior level within an organisation.
* Driving change, improvement, and challenge through an organisation or department.
