Job description / Role
Our client, semi government entity is currently looking for an Emirati Head of Internal Audit to be based in Abu Dhabi.
For this role, you will have the following responsibilities:
• Develop or supervise assistants in planning the scope for audits and selection and development of appropriate audit procedures.
• For each audit engagements, ensure establishing a practical budget, completing work on time, timely reporting, evaluating performance, and accounting of variances.
• Review the documentation outputs from planning to report writing. Represent the department, whenever requested, in opening and closing meetings and other delegated assignments
• Perform all field work in a competent and professional manner. Provide evidential support for all report recommendations.
• Prepare or review draft audit and finalize status memo.
• For projects completed, monitor the action plans due for implementation and ensure that items that are due for follow-up are assigned are in fact followed-up.
• Promote awareness on the role of Internal Control Department to management and employees of the Group and its subsidiaries.
• Provide consulting service as and when requested by Senior Management.
• Ensure that the use of Audit Management Tools are maximized to increase efficiency in performing internal audit activities.
• Pursue departmental approved program for continuing education for self.
• Demonstrate superior performance in all attributes of professional conduct. Encourage others towards comparable performance.
Requirements
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or at least have achieved or worked towards certification by examination.
• Should have 5-8 years of Auditing experience.
• Proficiency in using Audit Management System and Audit Tools.
