Job description / Role
NTS Group is working with a reputable FMCG leader in the region, who are seeking a Head of Operations & Logistics for their trade division. Based in Dubai, you will be accountable for the day to day supply chain operations including inventory, storage, Import, Export and control and coordination of planning transport, focusing on routing and optimisation of transport activity related with the Services Providers and the Clients and the Stores.
The role will be responsible for applying the guidelines and exceeding the targets with the transport service providers and to ensure that these guidelines are well respected in term of costs, quality and service levels. You will be responsible for establishing and proposing the delivery schedule in relationship with the Stores and the Logistic Providers and finding the most appropriate solution to deliver the goods to stores in order to use optimum the dedicated fleet.
You will also follow up the truck's route during the day, calculate the needs for transport, coordinate the activity between the logistic and transport providers, receive and communicate the changes determined by the emergencies, communicate to stores the delays and any other discrepancies which affects the quality of the services and organize the operation activities implementing of best practices in distribution of goods. Furthermore, you will determine and evolve the transportation plan according to the Client's needs, the legal requirements and local constraints, Collaborate with other departments related to the processes taking place in DC and distribution, Maintain SOP in the store (including stock management & utilization), maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting employees and appraising job results and prepare work schedule of sales support personnel (Ground/Delivery Staff) and assign them their daily tasks.
Requirements
To be successful, you will have a minimum of 10 years experience in logistics operations and transportation (with at least 5 years in a managerial role) with superb communication and leadership skills. You will have up to date knowledge of food trends and best practices and an innate ability to manage personnel and financial targets.
You will possess the ability to establish targets, KPIs, schedules, policies and procedures and the ability to comply with health & safety regulations. Candidates with specific fresh foods experience are preferred as is experience in route planning and optimisation of transport network. Regional experience (both Dubai and Abu Dhabi) is essential.
