Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Directs the programs and staff of the Psychology & Rehabilitation Services Department. Sets and implements guidelines for the services’ programs’ such as Educational Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Special Education/ABA Therapy.

Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to the Head of Children services & CMO.

Be involved in the recruitment process for all special abilities staff. Provide advice to the Executive Management/CMO on all matters relating to the development and maintenance of high quality special abilities services, both within ACSA itself and in relation to external contracts. Attend regular Heads of Department meetings. Meet with external organizations on behalf of ACSA in relation to service development activities.

Participate in conducting annual appraisals of all ACSA staff. Provision of psychological therapy services to patients of ACSA. Provision of psychometric and neuro-psychological assessment services.

Requirements

Work in a multidisciplinary Leading to a team approach to the health of the whole child. Provide special assistance to students who are struggling with learning disabilities, social disorders or emotional problems.

Coach parents and serve as effective liaisons between the school and its families. Liaise with academic institutions in relation to placement provision and/ or academic collaboration. Provide support to specialties’ team leaders involved in the supervision of special abilities staff. Provision of regular individual supervision to therapy staff employed full time by ACSA. Provision of trainees on placement as appropriate.

Facilitation of a regular peer supervision group for psychology staff. Provision of consultation sessions to any member of the therapy team requiring additional support with particular clients. Scrutinize audit results of ACSA’s therapist’s case notes.

Contribute to the development a system to monitor therapy outcomes of patients seen by THE CENTER’s psychologist/therapists. Be a member of THE CENTER Research Ethics Committee. Maintain up to date clinical, training and supervision skills.
