Job description / Role
Taylor Sterling is looking for a Construction Insurance Specialist to join a leading contractor in Dubai. Successful candidate has extensive experience in PI and CAR TPL/ OCIP, WC and CPM/MAR Insurance.
Ideal candidate has worked for a large insurance company and specializes in the construction related field.
Main responsibilities:
- Negotiate with brokers and insurance firms directly
- Manage the regions insurance with assistance from the legal team
General areas of experience:
- Familiarity with insurance, particularly construction related (CAR TPL/ OCIP, WC, CPM/MAR, Motor, Professional Indemnity and general annual insurances);
- Experience dealing with insurance declarations and brokers.
- Ability to understand/read declarations and question values declared;
- Ability to compile claims and reference policy clauses for recovery;
- Ability to deal with loss adjuster;
- Ability to analyse when a DIC DIL requirement;
- Knowledge of DHA / HAAD mandate and Medical Ins;
Requirements
- Request and check individual site declarations for annual insurance monthly updates (CPM, PAR);
- Collate company declaration data and manage register with brokers;
- Correspond with Insurance broker’s on expiring project insurances;
- Request and check renewal questionnaires from Site on expiring project insurances;
- Keep updated register of subcontractors /consultant PI insurances approved or under review;
- Request Tender contract insurance review with broker in timely manner;
- Collate and review all annual renewal declarations;
- Flag errors in any and all declarations and request clarity from relevant party
- Review of subcontractor insurance – Workmen’s compensation and third party liability.
Key skills:
- Organised;
- Administrative side of insurance up-keep (excel);
- Strong command of English – written; email; correspondence and discussion;
- Knowledge of construction equipment values and the construction business.
