Job description / Role
Our client is a global design consultancy with an established and growing presence in the Middle East. Our client is looking to recruit a Creative Design Director with a proven track record in the Hotel / Hospitality sector to be based Dubai.
Our client has long standing relationships with some of the best hotel operators throughout the Gulf Region and as such, the successful candidate will be responsible for working high-end luxury hotels/resort and spa projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Leading the studio to develop design solutions.
• Assuming responsibility for and assist in the development of design concepts.
• Preparing with the project team documentation for tenders and construction.
• Planning project and subordinate designer work flows.
• Assisting with resourcing requirements and planning for studio projects.
• Clarifying scope of work and prepare schedule for review.
• Managing cost control for corporate office turnkey and consulting projects. Assume overall responsibility for profit and loss of the studio.
• Mentoring, training, supervising and manage senior and junior designers to produce good design and standard detailing.
• Ensuring senior and junior designers adhere to our client’s policy.
• Assisting in marketing, business development and general representation of the company.
• Liaising with Managing Director with regards to management and performance of the studio
Requirements
• Degree qualified (or equivalent due to visa restrictions) in Architecture, Interior Design or relevant related discipline
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in Interior Design
• Be able to demonstrate a strong portfolio in the Hotel / Hospitality sector
• Previous work experience with well reputed internationally renowned Architecture / Interior Design Consultancies.
• Previous experience in the Middle East Region is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills are essential for this senior level role.
