Job description / Role
The IT Director will play a critical role in managing the Information Technology Services department and participate in the development of long term strategies to support the research and instructional activities of the institution.
You will direct the day-to-day IT services operations including training and guiding staff that support the end user services, networking, classroom technology, telecommunications and other information technologies.

Description:
* Plan, organize and provide overall direction in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the institution's IT infrastructure, applications and ERP servers in a highly complex environment.
* Establish the institution's overall IT short and long term strategic plan, direction and priorities.
* Provide overall technology leadership in developing and implementing envisioned information technology program.
* Develop information technology policies that encompass a broad range of issues with direct impact on faculty, students and staff.
* Analyse the institution's operations to determine ways that technology can be used to improve efficiency and enhance services.
* Assume primary responsibility for the IT systems architecture plans (i.e. network, application development).
* Lead IT operations, applications and technology teams to ensure that all projects meet strategic objectives and needs of the institution.
* Plan and direct the acquisition, utilization and disposal of IT resources within the institution's facilities.
* Oversee the development and implementation of training programs and individual instruction to faculty, staff and students in the use of applications, office and classroom equipment, and other types of information technology.
* Establishes enterprise credibility regarding IT initiatives, strategies and technology roadmaps.
* Supervision of personnel including work allocation, training/development and performance evaluation.

Requirements
* Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, IT or Computer Science.
* Extensive technical experience in a Senior IT management role demonstrating the ability to perform effective supervision of systems and people.
* PMP or other IT professional certifications is an advantage
* Successful track record in managing the implementation of projects in an educational environment within a fixed time frame.
* Experience with Oracle applications.
* Knowledge of PeopleSoft student information systems.
* Hands-on/proactive approach and an ability to work with tight deadlines and within constraints.
* Ability to plan, co-ordinate and prioritize activities.
* Experience in managing supplier relationships.
