Job description / Role
The IT Infrastructure Architect - Systems (PSS) is responsible for the design and implementation of server and network infrastructure for the PSS system both on premise and cloud, as part of the PSS project. He/she ensures that the FZ hosted PSS system can cope with the rapid growth of flydubai in both size and complexity over the next 10 years. He/she ensures that the PSS system leverages the latest server infrastructure to provide a cost effective, safe and scalable solution for flydubai
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key Activities
1. Design the server infrastructure solution for FZ hosted PSS platform on premise and cloud, taking into account the following parameters:
a. current transaction volume
b. projected growth in transactions
c. current data/transaction complexity
d. future data/transaction complexity
e. data security regulatory requirements
f. business requirements related to storage
g. b-to-b communication and interfacing requirements of the PSS platform
h. b-to-c communication and interfacing requirements of the PSS platform
2. Build of server infrastructure solution for FZ hosted PSS platform
3. Testing of server infrastructure solution for FZ hosted PSS platform
4. Implementation of server infrastructure solution for FZ hosted PSS platform
5. Ongoing maintenance of server infrastructure solution for FZ hosted PSS platform
6. Ongoing enhancement of server infrastructure solution for FZ hosted PSS platform
7. Research and recommend innovative solutions for PSS server infrastructure requirements taking into account locally hosted, cloud and hybrid solution options
8. Ensure that all PSS data is stored and backed up to ensure that in the event of a system failure, FZ data and system security is not compromised
9. Define and document the PSS server infrastructure related SLAs
10. Implement the PSS server infrastructure related SLAs
11. Monitor/Measure the PSS server infrastructure related SLAs
12. Report on the PSS server infrastructure related SLAs
13. Provide input to PSS DR system design
14. Develop and document the relevant PSS server infrastructure SOPs
15. Ensure that PSS server infrastructure solution is in keeping with overall IT server infrastructure strategy and that existing server infrastructure designs, processes, procedures, etc can be leveraged by the PSS solution
16. Ensure that fludubai has the correct staff headcount, skillsets, training and policies and procedures to maintain PSS server infrastructure
17. Act as a technical and functional SME for the PSS project
18. Install server infrastructure, peripherals, services, settings, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements for the PSS project
19. Planning and implementing various server infrastructure solutions related to the PSS project and related systems
20. Install, configure and maintain load balancers related to the PSS network infrastructure
21. PSS Data center physical server infrastructure management
22. server infrastructure SME for PSS projects
23. Partner with Technical Architects to develop and maintain enterprise documentation and architecture server infrastructure diagrams
24. Lead performance management activities to recommend improvement plans geared to maximize the use of the available capacity, plan incremental systems, and technology capacity for future growth.
25. Adhere to flydubai change management process and procedures for efficient use and handling of all resource changes (Hardware, software, cloud service and data) to minimize the impact of Change-related faults.
26. Implement server infrastructure maintenance and management procedures and ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms
27. Provides guidance and mentoring to the Network and Security team
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education
- Relevant HP and Cisco Certifications (Cisco CCNP or HP ASE)
- Relevant AWS or Azure certifications
- ITIL
Experience
- 15+years experience in IT server infrastructure design both on premise data centres and cloud
- 10+ years experience in IT server infrastructure design in the airline/aviation domain
- 10+ years experience in IT server infrastructure design in the airline commercial systems domain
- IT Technical system designer in at least 1 PSS implementation within the last 5 years
- 10 + years' proven experience in Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory & Domain architecture, NTFS permissions, WINS, DNS, DHCP, OS security, Hyper V, MS Exchange
- 7+ years proved experience in maintainance of the server infrastructure of a PSS Platform, prefereably not one hosted on a mainframe platform
- 5+ years proven experience working on a high transaction volume, high availability, mission critical system
- Familiarity with IT Security and Architecture reviews
- Familiarity with handling and mitigating attacks related to viruses, and malware
- Hands-on investigation and log analysis exposure
- Experience with IBM/HP/Huawei SAN storage systems
