IT Infrastructure Manager

Job description / Role

As the Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient design and engineering of the IT infrastructure used to support all business processes across the enterprise. You will have a diversified background of technical infrastructure experience, demonstrated project management acumen, excellent vendor management skills, plus a superior, service-oriented approach to infrastructure engineering.

Description

* Lead the development of the infrastructure aspects of the IT strategy and road map, and ensure its integration with the broader IT and enterprise strategic plans.
* Work with the enterprise architecture team to ensure that the IT infrastructure enables necessary applications and business processes.
* Build and maintain relationships with other IT leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensures cost-effective infrastructure solutions are in place to meet those needs, and is able to respond with agility to changing business priorities.
* Develop and control the infrastructure annual operating and capital expenditure budget for infra and manages expenses to stay within plan.
* Maintain currency on new technologies and platforms, and provide direction on what emerging infrastructure technologies should be introduced, integrated and assimilated.
* Provide oversight for the design and development of IT infrastructure platforms that fulfil the needs of the business.
* Work with IT leadership team to forecast future skills needed to acquire and develop a workforce with the appropriate mix of business knowledge, technical skills and competencies. Work towards a balance between growing the agility required to achieve digital business objectives and ensuring the core IT functions are reliable, stable and efficient.
* Provide leadership, coaching and direction to the IT infrastructure engineering team and staff.

Requirements

* Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
* Solid work experience of 8 to 10 years, out of which 5 years of progressive leadership responsibilities in the space of IT.
* Preferably experience in effectively managing cross-functional teams influencing key stakeholders across the organisation and within complex contexts
* Demonstrated experience in both planning and successful execution roles in complex environments
* Proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT infrastructure engineering groups in complex and dynamic environments
* Attainment of relevant certifications and professional networking via involvement in industry groups
