Job description / Role
• Own the project results and reporting of the project progress to the IT management, PMO and other RTA managers in co-ordination with the IT management.
• Ensure achievement of project timelines, efficient use of resources and productivity to meet the project objectives.
• Document project requirements in a business case and/or project brief and maintain it according to the IT methodology in order to facilitate ongoing support and maintenance.
• Ensure that IT PM methodology is followed throughout the execution of a project.
• Revise and monitor project management standards and procedures and propose recommendations for improvement to ensure projects are managed effectively.
• Take into consideration the dependencies from other projects while completing his / her existing project.
• Coordinate on a regular basis with the IT Strategy & Excellence section and provide data related to project status.
• Maintain awareness of current and emerging technologies, software packages, project management methodologies and tools.
• Ensure smooth transition of projects to IT services at the project completion stage.
• Work closely with IT Strategy & Excellence section to float the requisite RFPs and select vendors to implement various solutions for RTA.
• Ensure the Execution of projects is done in accordance with the RTA IT Enterprise Architecture and all applicable policies.
• Ensure that the vendors deliver as per the standards set by IT Strategy & Excellence section.
• Monitor the vendor performance throughout the implementation and report any issues (if they arise) during the implementation.
• Develop and manage the SLAs for the various implementations.
• Manage the delivery of these SLAs and ensure that these SLAs are being met by the implementation vendor.
• Plan the activities of the solution implementation team and monitor the solution implementation plan.
• Assist Strategy and Policy Manager in setting relevant standards, methodologies and frameworks.
• Assess the project team involved in the projects (including the RTA internal team as well as vendors team) and report performance to IT management and the PMO.
• Ensure smooth transfer of all projects into production and sustenance.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position when appropriate.
Requirements
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science /IT with PMP / Masters preferred from a recognized university.
• 8 years of working experience, out of which, a minimum of 4 years of experience in Project Management.
• Demonstrate the ability to manage more than 1 project (with medium level of complexity) at any point of time (within the RTA environment).
• Excellent communication skills; report writing; presentation and public speaking, excellent skills in high-end configured computer.
• Good project management skills to develop and direct Ability to initiate and direct technical projects.
• Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinizing, improving, and streamlining complex work processes.
• Computer-literate performer with extensive software proficiency covering wide variety of applications.
• Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.

About the Company
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) came into formation in November 2005. It is responsible for planning and executing transport and traffic projects in Dubai, preparing legislation and strategic plans, planning and constructing the Dubai Metro, developing other integrated solutions of road systems and marine networks that are safe and in line with the city’s economic development plans and the highest international standards.
