Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Reporting, Interaction Lines, and Relationships

Key Internal Relationships
• GMs, SVPs, VPs, Deputy GMs.

Key External Relationships
• Law firms
• Courts and legal bodies
• Management team/legal team of counterparties

Job Purpose
• Negotiator for transactions, excluding complex transactions.
• Providing input on tactics, research and contextual awareness.
• Junior liaison point with business on the above.
• Supporting the Group legal function by providing legal expertise and services, including:

- Supporting the internal business units in strategy and execution of corporate objectives
- Reviewing and amending contractual documentation;
- Providing frontline legal input on compliance and governance;
- Undertaking contractual negotiations with external lawyers and/or counterparties under supervision; and
- Helping ensure internal stakeholders are aware of the risks, mitigations and key legal issues in any contractual commitment for the Group, under supervision.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities
Strategic Role and Responsibilities
• Show initiative in relation to drafting and legal analysis.
• Proficient researcher and analyst.
• Share policeman responsibilities in relation to compliance with relevant laws and industry best practice.
• Retaining contacts with key external legal experts in relation to all matters requiring specialist expert advice.

Functional Roles and Responsibilities
• Work closely with all senior team members in ensuring legal concerns are addressed as soon as possible.
• Support the lead on contract negotiations with principals, suppliers and counsel of counter parties.
• Investigate legal claims and complaints by or against the Group, preparing analysis for senior approval/validation.
• Assist in the formation of new business lines and renegotiation of existing businesses.
• Assist in securing final terms and conditions for key contracts between the Group and other parties and provide to senior team members for final approval.
• Advise seniors team members and management on legal matters pertaining to their responsibilities, potential liabilities and exposures to assist in the making of informed decisions in line with relevant SoAs.
• Comprehensively and succinctly synthesise large volumes of information. Meticulous attention to detail.
• Company governance awareness and ability to draft basic company governance documentation.
• Solution orientated in a practical and compliant manner, in line with corporate governance and principles.
• Ability to understand basic financial principles.

People Management Roles and Responsibilities
• Inspire others. Manage internal clients to maximize outcomes.

Salary:
AED 23,000 to 26,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Job Requirements
• Education/Certification and Continued Education
• Graduate degree or above – ideally in law (or law plus conversion)

Languages
• Fluent English

Additional Requirements
• Historic experience of either ‘top tier’ international law firm or complex regional in-house role at a pedigree and relevant organisation.
