The Middle East Atkins Civil Engineering team is currently looking for a Road Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities

- Preparation of Highways design reports, designs and specifications
- Design production and completeness to technical and Atkins standards
- Coordination with other engineers/technicians to ensure updates to technical standards are maintained and disseminated to the team
- Ensure that designs are completed satisfactorily
- Promote and incorporate sustainable design wherever possible
- Promote and improve inter-discipline working with other disciplines.
- Monitor emerging legislation and engineering standards relating to highways design and ensure their implementation
- Provide technical input and supervise technical input of cad technicians within highways discipline
- Operate to the Quality Assurance system, quality control and document management in line with current policy

Requirements

Requirements

- Minimum degree classification of 2:1 (i.e. 3.2/4 GPA or above) in Civil Engineering. A further specialist (such as a MEng or Masters degree) would be an advantage
- No more than two (2.0) years relevant work experience
- Member of appropriate professional institution(s) or working towards.
- Drive and self motivation to achieve chartered status with the relevant institution
- Drive to continuously develop your technical & behavioural skills
- Ability to lead and work as part of a team
- Ability to apply technical knowledge in analysing problems and creating solutions
- Ability to work and communicate effectively in English (verbal & written) within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work on your own initiative
- Ability to adapt to changing environments
- Ability to multi-task and deliver to tight deadlines
- Ability to influence others
- Strong attention to detail and ability to make sound judgements
