Junior Sous Chef

The Jr. Sous Chef serves as "Third-in-command" of the kitchen: assist the Executive Chef, and Executive Sous Chef in supervising food quality, production and costs. The ability to quickly and authoritatively delegate tasks to kitchen personnel.

What you will be doing:
- Manages kitchen staff on behalf of the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef
- Communicates Executive Chef preparation procedures and presentation standards, observing methods of preparation, tasting and smelling prepared dishes, viewing color, texture and garnishes, verifying portion sizes and ensuring that corporate standards for food quality are consistently met
- Assists with menu planning, inventory, and managing of supplies
- Gives input on daily food specials to minimize food cost by maintaining effective inventory levels
- Oversees the preparation and service of food
- Trains kitchen staff of proper food handling, maintenance and safety
- Communicates effectively with other Department Supervisors


Your experience and skills include:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Buffet and Banquet kitchen with Arabic and International Cuisine knowledge
- Knowledge of all kitchen stations with a readily mentality to fill in for and/or assist cooks to ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly.
- Familiarity with administrative duties such as ordering, inventory, training, scheduling & hiring.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety requirements for restaurants
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Working experience in reputed Luxury brands and presently in UAE is preferred
