About the job:

Basic function of Laboratory Engineer is to conduct and monitor daily routine activities at the ACC Laboratory facility, which is similar to Team Leader. However, there will be additional responsibility to manage CT Scanner and must have relevant experience for data interpretation and evaluation using DICOM receiver workstation and CT image processing station. Coordination of all analysis according to scope of work agreed with clients as reflected in the flow diagram of the project provided by the Manager. Conducts analysis as per the documented procedures, Personnel scheduling and handling, training newly hired staff and mentoring, processing of Laboratory generated data, quality control, report generation, invoice preparation and Project Management. Implement, enforce, adhere and follows ADNOC and International HSE rules regarding toxicity, storage and disposal of environmentally harmful and toxic wastes and working Laboratory environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Organize routine and daily operational activities of the Core Analyses Laboratory
- Responsible for calibration and routine maintenance of CT Scanning machine
- Data acquisition, image processing, interpretation and report generation including 3D and cross sectional videos from CT Scanner raw data files (DICOM)
- Execute analysis as per documented Standard & Guidelines and procedures conforming to client analysis programs as per the flow diagram provided and communicated by the Team Leader or Senior Laboratory Engineer
- Control quality of service during all phases of the laboratory work to ensure that products of highest quality are delivered to the Client.
- Ensure that all equipment in the Laboratory Such as CMS-300, Logtec Thin Sectioning Machine, Profile Permeameter, MICP and all other equipment tools in custody are well maintained, calibrated properly and as required. Plan for all spare parts, chemicals, cleaning Solvents...etc. availability within his work area.
- Organize and participate to perform required Thin Sections preparation, Poro-Perm measurements using CMS-300, Profile Permeability measurements, and Mercury Injection Capillary Pressure, Grain Volume and other required measurements.
- Take necessary actions for running and operation of computerized equipment, Calibration, Service program and routine maintenance.
- Prepare the final invoices for completed projects and submit to the Team Leader/Senior Laboratory Engineer for further processing
- Report any equipment failures and operational problems and execute solutions.
- Monitors, enforces, and adhere HSE rules and regulations environment measures. Arrange for safety kit and requirements for subordinate personnel and ensure the use of such kit. Adheres to company's HSE rules and policies regarding toxicity, safe use, storage and disposal of environmentally harmful and toxic wastes.
- As team member perform training of new employees in ACC, ADNOC Group of companies or third party service provider laboratories, ensure the safety environment during the training.
- Work in a team environment and complete the given tasks on a timely and efficient basis.
- Carry out periodic stock checkups for chemicals and material in the stores which are required by the section and reports shortage also prepares preliminary requisitions for requirements from concerned catalogues
- Calculate, interpret results and prepare the measurements reports with finding and recommendations to the concerned departments.
- Train Laboratory staff to progress on Project Management.
- Provide training to other employees for CT Scanning and CT Scan data processing and other areas where required.
- Handling any other related responsibility as assigned by the Team Leader/Senior Laboratory Engineer.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or engineering degree in Geology/Petroleum field or equivalent
- Minimum 5-year experience as Laboratory technician for core analysis including CT scanner data processing in oil field or similar laboratories.
- Knowledge and application of international Standards and Guidelines for core analyses.
- Proficiency in working with Microsoft office and core data management I.T. systems. Ability to adapt to other relevant ACC developed software.
- Communication skills in English with the ability to engage with team players and management in a technically coherent manner.
