Job Description
We are seeking an energetic candidate who will be responsible for overseeing the Department's various labs including the Eye-tracking lab, EEG lab, Phonetics lab, Psycholinguistics lab and Behavioral lab. The Department's labs include the following methodologies: eye-tracking, EEG, ultrasound, and a number of behavioral procedures. The lab manager's duties will include stimuli construction, database analyses, phonetic transcriptions, reading and writing summaries of scientific articles, programming experiments, preparing auditory stimuli, preparing consent forms and questionnaires, testing human participants, and conducting statistical analyses.
Other tasks may involve preparing reports on results, documenting and archiving of the data obtained. The ideal candidate should hold a specialization in Linguistics, psychology or cognitive science, with specific experience using the eye-tracking, EEG, and ultrasound procedures since s/he will be responsible for independently setting up and calibrating instrumentation, monitoring data acquisition, saving and processing data for offline analysis, and obtaining informed consent from human subjects. The ideal candidate will have critical thinking, be able to work well independently and in a team, must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure, and must have excellent English and Arabic reading and writing skills.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor degree in Linguistics, psychology or cognitive science and will have knowledge and experience in:
- Linguistics (i.e., morphology, phonology, syntax, semantics, psycholinguistics, etc.), psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, biology, computer science, or related field.
- Building, programming and conducting linguistic experiments.
- Proficiency in using computer softwares (e.g., PRAAT, PsychoPy, SPSS, R) and programming languages (e.g. MATLAB, Python, BASH) is strongly preferred.
- Conducting experiments in Arabic and Emirati Arabic.
- Prior research experience in developmental psychology or neuroimaging labs is desired.
- Previous experience on using eye-tracker, EEG and ultrasound procedures is desired.

Minimum Qualification
- BA in Linguistics, psychology or cognitive science, with specific experience using the eye-tracking, EEG, and ultrasound procedures

Preferred Qualification
