Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is one of the largest indoor aquariums, featuring thousands of aquatic animals and a 270-degree walk-through tunnel. The Aquarium represents several hundred marine species within our impressive 10-million-liter tank. The Underwater Zoo takes visitors through various aquatic environments including the rainforest, touch pools and UAE Night creatures. Also featured is the behind the scenes guided tour.
ABOUT THE FUNCTION
The job holder is responsible for daily husbandry care and training of animals within the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo according to established protocols. Assist the Curator, Assistant Curator, and Curatorial Supervisor in the acquisition, quarantine and maintenance of animal collection and display development. Provide and maintain the best animal welfare practice for animal collection. Ensure and monitor appropriate environmental condition for all exhibits. Keep and preserve appropriate and up to date animal records. Follow all relevant aquarium SOP, animal husbandry procedures and health and safety protocols. Conduct animal encounter or interaction program.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in marine science, aquaculture, animal husbandry, oceanography or equivalent experience in aquarium, zoo or similar facility.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in related field
• With Animal training experience
• Minimum Advance Open Water SCUBA certification from a recognized training agency.
