Job description / Role
Our client is a leading and well respected international contractor who are currently recruiting experienced technical staff for their regional office in Dubai.
Primary objective leading the Marine design for a large scale Oil and Gas, Port Expansion project interacting with other disciplines, client and vendors as required. Carry out conceptual, front end design and detailed design engineering activities.
General Requirements:
• Preparation of Front end engineering deliverables including design basis, specifications, studies and reports.
• Organize and manage all aspects of the workload of a team of Marine discipline engineers and designers, within the parameters of a project schedule.
• Optimization of EPC Project Design produced by Engineering Sub consultants
• Coordination with other disciplines
• Work is performed in accordance with broad technical guidelines and with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve goals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Good working knowledge of applicable International Design Guidelines, Codes and Standards.
• Project experience in Oil and Gas facilities
• Project Experience in Marine port facilities (Container terminals will be considered an advantage)
Requirements
Specific Requirements:
• Minimum Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering / Marine Engineering (MSc will be considered as an advantage).
• 15 years experience in design of marine / costal structures including:
• Establishment of environmental and operational design criteria
• Wave climate, hydrodynamic, and sedimentation studies
• Design of marine/coastal structures including breakwaters and revetment, seawater intake and outfall systems, underwater pipelines (scour, protection, laying, etc.), quay walls, piled structures, port layout studies, etc.
• Berth Furniture design
• Derivation of environmental data for design of berth facilities and coordination with other engineering disciplines (structural, geotechnical).
• Numerical modelling and analysis using specialized computer software (e.g., MIKE21, Litpack, Optimoor, etc.).
