Role Summary:

The Lead Material Planning and Execution Specialist will lead demand and fulfillment of material flow (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules for the on Wing Support repair station. The role of Lead Material Planning and Execution Specialist will plan and schedule all production material needs to support engine repair and overhaul within the On Wing support site.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Lead Material Planning and Execution Specialist will report to the Senior Materials. Planning and Execution Manager as a member of the Material and Logistics team. In addition, as the Lead Material Planning and Execution Specialist, you will:

- Coordinating / expediting material flow to meet customer delivery requirements
- Working within defined parameters to make decisions amid complex scenarios, resolving issues through immediate action or short-term planning, and monitoring implementation of corrective action plans
- Analyzing data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels, and reduce total costs
- Interfacing with key stakeholders both internal and external to the OWS team through effective communication across direct organization and function including executive business leadership
- Maintaining accurate traceability for all records created during manufacturing of products and transfers, while ensuring compliance is maintained on all material movements including completion of applicable work package reviews for material and fiscal accuracy
- Communicating and supporting long and short-term strategy and goals of OWS global business
- Own Material fulfillment function within the GE OWS facility including managing all incoming and outgoing material to support technician job activities, championing key business metrics, and owning critical material elevation
- Negotiate priorities within the OWS site, defining inventory parameters, & accomplishing forecasted output to ensure delivery of material and output of engines toward production plan
- Develop and implement inventory management strategy that assures inventory and service level goals are met in parallel. Improve inventory accuracy through increased oversight and regular cycle counts
- Perform routine analysis of frequently consumed part numbers and respond with effective action for kitting and bundling opportunities
- Manage Gate 2 (repair and kitting cycle) metrics through liaison with planning team
- Report progression to Gate 2 targets to keep site and broader OWS leadership team informed of progress and any concerns which require additional support
- Improve timeliness of material receipt to shop floor to expedite Gate 2
- Maximize generation of Operating Margin & CSA Productivity through rotable burn initiatives and used material procurement, ensuring customer contractual obligations are met
- Manage COP (customer owned property) when OWS will maintain at our site(s)
- Represent site and materials team leadership as needed during key business meetings
- Ensure full compliance with GE Policies & Procedures while undertaking all aspects of this role
- Support negotiation and coordination with freight agents to ensure associated transportation and compliance costs are allocated correctly
- Work with global traffic team to further review all opportunities for cost reductions, while maintaining company confidentiality for previously negotiated freight rates
- Run and manage reporting methods for various logistics and inventory processes and take applicable actions to assist in minimizing commercial and cost impacts to GE OWS
- Ensure operational alignment with production plan and defined KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
- Actively partner with Production leader in production planning & provide inputs from materials perspective
- Analyze requests submitted by fiscal authorities and prepares responses for deferral (Physical Inventory)
- Direct Engine delivery into the business and re-delivery to customers upon OWS work completion while managing risks of logistic processes for freight & engine movements
- Engage site engineering lead to coordinate tooling shipment activities with applicable counterpart in OWS Batavia or with contract resources such as Pilot Freight or related carrier

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college {Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing environment (Including Education and training with understanding of technical concepts, methods and procedures)}
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Materials Planning and Execution role (Including experience in a Manufacturing, Operations, or Materials Management position to include procurement functions)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in utilizing planning systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Certification IATA / ICAO (safe transportation of dangerous goods)

- General understanding of laws governing Export License
- Analytical and computer literacy skills, including a solid understanding of spreadsheet software
- Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to interface with large cross-section of GE business and external stakeholders. Professional attributes allowing effective communication with customers, auditors, etc.
- Good team player with flexible approach
- Proven track record of delivery in a challenging role
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work and communicate in a well-organized and structured manner
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
