Charterhouse is working with a regional energy company that specialises in Oil & Gas operations. Our client is in search of a Lead Mechanical Engineer to manage and oversee on-shore mechanical operations support.

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will ensure all of the designated mechanical technical work, including Rotating and Static Equipment is checked and that the team’s output is prioritised, as per the operational requirements.

Managing a team of three Mechanical Engineers, this role will supervise operational integrity, safety critical elements and safety critical equipment, maintaining the highest level of mechanical discipline.

The role will play a crucial part in the Operations Support Team, providing expertise and guidance in all business processes, ensuring projects are executed on time and within budget. Additionally, the Lead Mechanical Engineer will ensure any change is managed effectively, adhering to management of change standards.

This Lead Engineer will coordinate with the Engineering Department to ensure maintainability is considered when specifying, procuring and installing new or replacement equipment.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, the candidate will be a management level Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 15 years’ experience, within an operating company specifically focusing on the design and maintenance of rotating machinery (on-shore).

The client is looking for a candidate who has relevant experience in design and construction of hydrocarbon processing / utilities plants and with applications of associated codes and standard. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a Mechanical Engineering from an internationally recognised University and will be a strong team leader who has knowledge and experience of remote working environments.
