A well-established retail mall with an excellent reputation for serving the community is seeking an experienced Leasing Manager. The mall is unique in its design concept and has a retail mix of up to 200 stores within fashion, beauty, services, family entertainment and food and beverage outlets. The Senior Management team are also long standing and committed individuals and have achieved great success, which has currently resulted in a 100% occupancy rate. The wider team are also very dedicated and committed at all levels, and therefore the Leasing Manager is required to be a forward thinking, positive and team inclusive individual.

The core function of this role is to ensure there is maximum occupancy of both rental units and kiosks and to constantly improve performance, productivity and organizational operations and relations between the retail tenants. You will work to a proven matrix to ensure new tenants are a best fit for the mall profile and that new brands added enhance the profitability of all concerned. You will be the commercial eyes and ears of the mall and offer advice and assistance to retailers with all aspects of their business from the overall marketing strategy and in store visuals to deeds of surrender and everything in between.

Alongside monitoring and supporting current tenants, part of the role will also be to attract new brands and retailers to the mall. Here, there is strict criteria and due diligence to be performed prior to a final decision, which the Leasing Manager will be fully involved in with the Senior Management team. Commercial and financial acumen to make well researched decisions is therefore essential to this role. It is also expected that the successful candidate will have industry knowledge to ensure they keep up to date of regional trends within the retail and customer service industries.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Leasing Manager it is essential that you are educated to degree level or have gained relevant commercial real estate or retail development qualifications. With at least 3 years’ experience in the local commercial leasing market, preferably within retail malls, you should be adept in handling people (often at CEO level), negotiations, attention to detail and extremely commercially aware and tenacious. Familiarity with all relevant legal requirements and leasing practices is a must in order to be successful in this role.
