The Role:

The Linux System Engineer will work in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team of infrastructure, application and network engineers and be responsible for ensuring our applications are available to our customers 24/7/365.

In this role, you will:
- Perform deep technical assessments for our most critical applications to ensure that they are highly resilient against security threats
- Be responsible for performing application security reviews and penetration testing, working with the technical development organization and enforcing the application security review process
- Act as the subject matter specialist communicating and delivering highly effective information security practices and techniques

Requirements

To bring your dream to life, you'll need:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience of scripting with Python or Ruby is essential
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a Linux production environment is essential
- Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and identifying solutions to resolve application issues
- Knowledge of REST API and web applications
- Experience of IT operations in an 24/7/365 environment including monitoring and alerting infrastructure
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, BIND, SQL as well as other core network services

Desired Skills:
- Experience with micro services and their orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, or Shipyard, Hadoop, Elasticsearch administration
- Understanding and administration experience of Neo4J, MongoDB and Java
- Familiarity with the software development practices such as GIT workflows and CI/CD
