Job description / Role
Responsible for the interpretation of and timely, accurate transcribing of clinical, dictated reports regarding patient assessment, work-up, therapeutic procedures, clinical course, diagnosis and prognosis, including but not limited to, history and physical, operative report, consultation, discharge summary, pathology and letters.
Requirements
Graduate of a recognized Medical Transcription/Medical Secretarial School.
Must have English as primary language.
Knowledge of JCIA/JCAHO or other accreditating bodies an asset.
Minimum 3 years experience in acute care hospital or multi-specialty clinic .
Knowledge/experience of a computerized dictation system.
Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Word or similar software.
Candidate should be locally available on spouse visa to work as locum medical transcriptionist for 6 months.
