Maintenance IT Technician

Position Summary
The successful candidate will have excellent and proven IT capabilities (HW, OS and Applications) and will be able to perform maintenance at an intermediate and high level for large scale and advance systems; across a large geographical area. This role will be responsible for the maintenance of site IT equipment covering hardware, operating systems and applications and for the resolution of identified technical problems, as well as undertaking general tasks which will promote the use of IT across the site.

Responsibilities:
- The position will be located in the command and control (C&C) centre to be able to operate the technician station
- Provide real time technical backup and systems usability status to the C&C operators
- Demonstrate the ability to run all C&C systems at an operations level
- Liaise with the C&C operators for any problems with site systems
- Keep the C&C operators aligned with the systems technical status
- Provide preventive and corrective maintenance to onsite IT equipment covering hardware, operating systems and applications
- Conduct a procedure every morning to ensure that all systems are working and escalate any hardware issues to hardware technicians
- Report any hardware faults highlighted by team members
- Ensure the anti-virus software is installed, kept up to date and work on all servers and workstations
- Maintain and check that backup software works properly
- Check the storage status
- Make software available to appropriate users
- Check that all services required for a specific computer are all running
- Re-install and test new software
- Maintain computer peripheral equipment
- Keep a log of all technical, camera, and computer faults
- Check that all the hard drive is working properly in HP storage (NetApp)
- Check new computer equipment on arrival and install as appropriate
- Liaise with the designated person responsible for the maintenance of the inventory
- Liaise with the designated person responsible for portable appliance electrical safety testing
- Check the network backup logs where appropriate
- Carry out routine network maintenance tasks
- Be familiar with the network infrastructure (cable and patch panels, hubs, switches, and routers) and keep a log of any damage to it
- Document network infrastructure for fast references if any faults happen

Requirements

- IT related education (network, MS) or other relevant technical degree (Practical Engineer)
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA), and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is a must and Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP) is an advantage
- Minimum of 5 years experience in IT maintenance
- Minimum of 3 years actual hands on experience with configuration of IT equipment/ systems deep knowledge in operating systems: Windows server 2003 server/2000/XP, define domain environment, raids configuration
- PC/server Hardware Technician knowledge
- Experience with video surveillance (CCTV, thermal, PTZ, Video analytics)
- Experience in MS systems administration ideally with MCSE / MCSA / MCDST / A+ certifications and exposure to VMW technologies
- Cisco Networking and VOIP
- CCNA / CCNP networking skills and knowledge of supporting systems within large scale organizations
- Deep knowledge in security systems
- Cisco network equipment + MS server 2003
- Deep knowledge in networking, Cisco switch configuration, working with sniffers, protocols TCP/IP/UDP
- Experienced with integrations, troubleshooting, and system analyze and access control systems
- Experienced with video systems and protocols
- Experience with radar systems and Command and Control applications
