Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The job holder will be responsible for end to end project management from Design to Execution for all Retail store for Home Box concept, which includes conceptual and detailed planning, designing, material specification, contractor evaluation and finalization, site supervision and control.

The job holder will also be responsible for renovation of existing stores.

1) Retail format Design / Re-design - As per Concept guidelines

- Conceptualize Design & Redesign retail formats for the Concept in line with the customer, mall requirements and latest market trends

- Develop complete design for the showroom that will include a comprehensive floor plan, exterior elevations, interior elevations, A/c diffuse allocation, lightning, graphic imaging (3D Presentation) and all material selections and finishes

- Develop designs for all other features / utilities of the mall or store such as building placement / orientation, parking lot layout / flow, service vehicle access

- Deliver detailed specifications and clear, concise, comprehensive, and complete engineering / interior drawings as required

- Ensure that all the designs and drawings are as per the company standards

- Assist in developing the zoning in the store as per the categories of products to be displayed by bearing in mind the principles of space management and profiles of the target consumers

- Review and process all shop drawing/sample submissions and consult within the Projects Team and External Consultants, as appropriate, to ensure the design intent is being maintained

- Conduct existing conditions surveys and prepare architectural base plans, sections, elevations and details as appropriate to document relevant conditions

- Coordinate with the Retail Operations and VM team to get their inputs on the design, which includes the floor plan, elevations etc.

- Provide expertise in detail development and assisting in researching products and systems that accomplish the design intent

- Review and recommend to the retail team any changes that may be required to renovate the existing stores

2) Flooring, Ceiling, Electrical and Lighting Design Drawings

- Understand and develop detail drawings for the following, with focus on cost, quality and durability:

o Shop fittings layout

o Partition plans

o Electrical and lighting layouts

o Coordinated MEP drawings and

o All relevant local shop fitting detail

- Assist in maintaining all drawings and specifications

- Prepare and modify drawings of fit-outs so as to help prepare the quotation and to help the fitters on site during installation

- Review and verify drawings to ensure dimensional accuracy

- Survey sites and prepare follow up plans for any kind of installation as necessary

3) Site Project Management

- Assist in site selection and prepare the detailed survey report by performing on-site design services, interpreting drawings, specs, codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and carrying out field engineering work

- Prepare detailed project plans for site development including project costing, timelines and development schedules and coordinate for approvals

- Nominate, evaluate and appoint consultants and contractors / suppliers / vendors including negotiation of rates and contractual terms and obligations

- Manage vendor relationships including conducting planning session with vendors and service providers and define project and performance expectations

- Identify and evaluate new products / solutions including material to be used bearing in mind quality and cost effectiveness

- Supervise all the activities on-site and coordinate with Concept to regularly provide feedback on the progress of project work

- Guide and manage the manpower deployed onsite including Supervisors and contractor labour

4) Technical Supervision

- Oversee and manage:

o Any construction and interior design related work in the existing stores and new stores

o Any electricity related work in the existing stores and new stores

o Any carpentry related work in the existing stores and new stores

o Any plumbing related work in the existing stores and new stores

- Review Civil / MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) drawings till completion

- Coordinate with MEP, municipal authorities and PRO for approvals of Civil signage's and municipality permissions

5) Miscellaneous

- Keep oneself abreast about new shop fittings / elements and suggest material to be used

- Build and share knowledge of the latest retail design trends and computer aided technologies available

Requirements

Skills:

- 6 to 8 years of Interior / Retail Store / Building Designing and Project Management experience

- Should have Home & Furniture experience for min 2-3 years

- Should have handled large format retail/Hyper mart.

- Technical S/w expertise: Revit, AutoCAD, 3D Max (optional).

- Exposure to the latest building materials, building systems and interior trends through formal or informal training (on job

- experience)

- Willingness to travel across the GCC & Africa region, when required

- Strong in Retail project design & Project management
