Summary
Main Duties and responsibilities:

Operational:
- Implement, maximize, monitor and evaluate the Hyatt Centric Jumeirah Dubai communication objectives, and strategies, including advertising, public relations and graphics and collateral to support the objectives set in the Annual Marketing Plan.
- Measure, interpret, prioritize and evaluate the effectiveness of communication activities and re-evaluate programs on an ongoing basis to achieve/exceed objectives outlined in the Annual Communication Plan.
- Assist with the integrated communication program with the Director of Sales & Marketing and the Hotel Manager and as outlined in the Annual Marketing Plan.
- Oversee targeted publicity and coverage of the Hyatt Centric Jumeirah Dubai positioning, promotional programs, corporate image building and other activities.
- To assess advertising needs and opportunities for the Hotels.
- Evaluate media solicitations and ensure optimum relationships with media contacts.
- Ensure Food & Beverage and Rooms advertising is of consistently high standards while assessing market standards, trends and competitor activity.
- Recommend and develop proposals and direct and implement below-the-line sales promotions, with external partners such as credit card companies, banks, department stores, airlines etc. to support advertising and sales campaigns.
- Develop community contacts among government, businesses, associations etc. and represent the Hyatt Centric Jumeirah Dubai at common public functions.
- To support ad-hoc events and or projects in the community.
- Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing in maintaining accurate records of up-to-date marketing expenditures, future commitments and remaining budget for the year.
- Be demanding and critical when it comes to departmental standards.

Administrative:
- Ensure that an efficient and accurate filing system, both manual as well as electronic is maintained at all times.
- Ensure meetings are well-planned, efficient and results oriented.

Requirements

Financial:
- To assist the Director of Sales with the annual communication budgets, including above-the-line advertising, public relations, sales promotions and publicity that will form part of the Hotels' Annual Business Plan.
- To work with Executive Committee members in support of their internal and external communication needs.

Qualifications
- Ideally with a university degree or diploma in Marketing or Hospitality/Tourism management.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience as Assistant Manager Marketing, or Marketing Manager in larger operations.
- Good problem-solving, administrative and interpersonal skills are a must.

About the Company

Hyatt was founded by Jay Pritzker in 1957 when he purchased the Hyatt House motel adjacent to the Los Angeles International Airport. Over the following decade, Jay Pritzker and his brother, Donald Pritzker, working together with other Pritzker family business interests, grew the company into a North American management and hotel ownership company, which became a public company in 1962. In 1968, Hyatt International was formed and subsequently became a separate public company. Hyatt Corporation and Hyatt International Corporation were taken private by the Pritzker family business interests in 1979 and 1982, respectively. On December 31, 2004, substantially all of the hospitality assets owned by Pritzker family business interests, including Hyatt Corporation and Hyatt International Corporation, were consolidated under a single entity, now Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
